National Contracts

National contracts have always been something of a compromise for suppliers of cleaning services and for the users of them. Traditional large cleaning organizations have the financial muscle and systems and procedures that are essential for the running of a large stand alone location with an annual value on its own of many hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The problem for such organizations is not the large site but the small one or two cleaner operation perhaps many miles from a regional office or the main site of the contract. With such operations, all it takes is for the sole cleaner to go sick and no cleaning is done, support is slow to arrive and the client is not happy.

So a national contract embracing small and large sites is a problem for large operators (in dealing with small sites) and for small suppliers (in dealing with the large sites and indeed even being asked to tender as their size often precludes them from tendering for such huge contracts).
