Here at Ecocleen Head Office we are proud to announce we are a recognised service provider working with the Living Wage Foundation!

In April 2016, the government introduced a higher minimum wage rate for all staff over 25 years of age inspired by the Living Wage campaign - even calling it the ‘national living wage’.

The Living Wage Foundation is the organisation at the heart of the independent movement of businesses, organisations and people that campaign for the simple idea that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. They celebrate and recognise the leadership of responsible employers who choose to go further and pay a real Living Wage based on the cost of living, not just the government minimum.

How is it different from the government’s ‘National Living Wage’?

The Living Wage campaign was launched in 2001 by parents in East London, many of whom were working two minimum wage jobs and still not able to make ends meet.

Low pay makes it difficult for employees to find time for community and family life. The causes of poverty are complex and in order to improve lives there should be a package of solutions across policy areas. The Living Wage can be part of the solution.

Since 2001 the campaign has impacted well over a hundred thousand employees and put hundreds of millions of pounds into the pockets of some of the lowest paid workers in the UK.

Paying the real Living Wage is a recognised sign of good practice in employment. There are now thousands of employers signed up and proudly displaying the Living Wage Employer Mark.

We offer all our customers the option to opt into the Living Wage Foundation so we can provide a better income for our staff.
